Improved simultaneous reaction-rate determination of phosphate and silicate by use of the continuous addition of reagent technique

چکیده
The continuous addition of reagent (CAR) technique was used as an effective means of improving the simultaneous reaction-rate determination of phosphate and silicate based on the formation of the corresponding heteropolymolybdates. The special features of the CAR technique allow the flexible manipulation of the reactant concentrations and reaction kinetics for controlling the classical synergistic effect involved in this reaction. Hence, resolution of mixtures of the two anions with phosphate-to-silicate ratios from 10 : 1 to 1 : 20 at the micromolar level can be resolved with good accuracy (errors less than 10% in most cases) and precision (relative standard deviations about 2.5–4.5%). The method compares favourably with existing reaction-rate alternatives, especially in the resolution of mixtures with excess of phosphate over silicate, which is reported in this paper for the first time. The determination of phosphorus and silicon in sunflower was selected to validate the proposed method for the analysis of real samples.

متن کاملApplication of Differential Kinetic Method Using ANN with a New Synthetic Reagent for Simultaneous Spectrophotometric Determination of Mercury and Palladium
A new selective reagent was used for simultaneous determination of mercury and palladium in real samples with their different kinetic spectrophotometric properties. The method is based on the difference in the rate of the oxidation reaction of the recently synthesized reagent, nitro benzoyl diphenylmethylen phosphorane (N-BDMP), with Hg2+ and Pd2+. The kinetic profiles were monitored and record...

Introduction: The mechanism of action and metabolism of clozapine, a complex drug used in psychopharmacology, is not completely understood. The effects of this compound in human body are related to some interactions with serotonin and dopamine neurotransmitter receptors. To further elucidate the mechanism of action and to support ongoing drug metabolism studies, [14C] clozapine with suita...
متن کاملSimultaneous spectrophotometric determination of orthophosphate and silicate ions in river water using ion-exclusion chromatography with an ascorbate solution as both eluent and reducing agent, followed by postcolumn derivatization with molybdate.
Ion-exclusion chromatography was examined for the simultaneous spectrophotometric determinations of orthophosphate and silicate ions in river water using an ascorbate solution as both an eluent and a reducing agent, followed by postcolumn derivatization using molybdate. The detector responses for both ions increased with increased ascorbic acid concentration in the eluent, but peak tailing was ...
